Bridgetown Natural Foods, a contract manufacturer of better-for-you snacks, will invest $78.3m in a new production and distribution facility in Tennessee.
State Governor Bill Lee announced the capex project in a statement posted on the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) website, which noted the facility in Lebanon, Wilson County, will be Bridgetown’s “second location outside of its West Coast headquarters”.
While the statement said 219 jobs will be created from the project, Bridgetown suggested the count could be more. The company will have approximately 600 employees across its two facilities once the Tennessee site is operational, a spokesperson informed Just Food. Prior to the investment, it had about 350 staff.
Production at the new plant is expected to start in July, Portland, Oregon-headquartered Bridgetown confirmed.
“The new facility will provide opportunities to grow for our team members and allow us to better support our customers with production capacity, shorter delivery times and decreased shipping costs,” the spokesperson said.

By GlobalDataMeanwhile, the TNECD statement said: “Bridgetown’s new facility will house multiple manufacturing lines, which will produce nearly 100 million pounds of the company’s all-natural, organic and gluten-free snack brands annually and optimise distribution to the East Coast by shortening delivery times and decreasing shipping costs.”
Bridgetown Natural Foods, founded in 2010, produces better-for-you snacking products for customers in North America selling into the retail channel. It became a B-Corp certified business in 2014.
The company’s production lines are “designed and appropriately scaled for emerging brands”, especially in the areas of speciality baked goods, extruded snack bars, granolas and clusters.
According to Bridgetown, its “expertise” is in allergen-free, gluten-free, organic and kosher products.
